Step 4 – DevOps Onboarding

The DevOps onboarding process is straightforward once the foundational registrations are in place. Refer to the Publix DevOps Green Book for full guidance and context.

Pre-requisites​

  1. ISRC record started or approved
  2. CMDB Business Application entry in ServiceNow

Process​

  1. Complete the Value Stream Mapping template available here. This requires key system details and expected workflows.
  2. Identify Active Directory groups that will handle access and approvals for the new DevOps project.
  3. Email EnterpriseDevOpsServices@publix.com to request creation of the DevOps project. Include:
    • A request to provision the new project
    • Existing AD groups or the desired naming pattern so they can create them
    • The completed Value Stream Mapping document
  4. Submit follow-up requests for repositories, service connections, environments, or other DevOps resources as needed.
  5. Once provisioned, validate the project structure, permissions, and access configuration with your team.
